Leesburg Executive Airport (JYO)
Aviation Adventures is located inside the Leesburg Main Terminal Building up the steps under the big colorful sign, "The Flight School Pilots Love.". The office provides first row seating and the best view for aircraft operations to and from the runway. Especially on windy or rainy days you can still enjoy the outside activity in style, sitting in the business class seats while Mother Nature is kept at bay. Situated in the middle of all the activity where business jets, corporate turbo props, and private aircraft pilots come together, the main terminal has a business atmosphere but still gives you the small airport feeling. On the way to your airplane on the Aviation Adventures flight line, you can stop by the ProJet front desk and put in your fuel request.
Leesburg Executive Airport delivers comprehensive services without the congestion, expense and delays common to larger airports. Leesburg offers the full range of general aviation services. The airport boasts a 5,500-foot runway and has a WAAS GPS approach and a precision Instrument Landing System (ILS), great for instrument flying and training.
Any pilot flying into or out of JYO needs to have taken the FAA Safety course for Navigating the DC Special Flight Rules Area.
