High Altitude Operations Class

Join us on Saturday, March 27th for a High Altitude Operations class taught by Roger Coffman. The class will run from 9am - noon in the conference room at Volo Aviation in Manassas. The class will cover: 1) Ground training required by FAR 61.31(g)(1) towards the high altitude endorsement - Aerodynamics, meterology, and physiology related to operations at high altitudes. 2) Oxygen systems of the Cessna 182 Turbo Skylane and Cessna 400 Corvalis TT - System operation and maintenance, masks, canulas, pulse oximeter, and flight planning. 3) Economics - Learn when using the flight level-capable Cessna 182 Turbo Skylane or the Cessna 400 Corvalis TT is your most cost-effective aircraft choice. You will want to take this class if you are planning on, or thinking about, getting checked out in the Turbo Skylane or Corvalis. It will give you valuable background knowledge in preparation for flight at the higher altitudes. Completion of this class counts toward the ground school requirement of the Cessna approved transition course required for checkout in the Corvalis. You will want to take this class if you are interested in expanding your aviation knowledge. Completion of the class entitles you to a logbook endorsement stating that you have completed the ground training required by FAR 61.31(g)(1) for operating pressurized aircraft.
